Name: Claudia
Age: 47
Here's a quick interview I did with my mom about life and other good things.
Mae:What was your favorite secret activity as a child?
Claudia:Well I had a secret place that I liked to be by myself, and it was this really beautiful bush in the neighbors yard. And I would go and hang out and sit under the bush. I had my secret little world.
Mae:What was your favorite activity as a teenager?
Claudia: Running.
Mae:What was the worst phrase you used alot?
Claudia: No duh!
Mae:Craziest hairdo you ever had? Or just interesting hairdos you had?
Claudia: Oh interesting hairdos? For a wile I had this big wad of electrical wires. They were all different colors and I would make a lot of braids in my hair with electrical wires and then I’d make them stick all out in different places and different ways.
Mae: (laughs)
Mae: How do you feel about staying up late?
Claudia: DON’T LIKE IT.
Mae:What kinds of books did you like when you were a kid?
Claudia: Oh I read so many books...
Mae: Well what was one of your favorite genres?
Claudia: Um I really liked Ursula Le Guin as a writer, and the C.S. Leuis series (Narnia?)was my favorite series. But I read everything. I loved the Hobbit
Mae: Advice on cutting your own hair?
Claudia: Yes, definitely.
Mae: (laughs) Any ADVICE though?
Claudia: Oh on cutting your own hair.
Claudia: Umm...
Mae: No? Okay.
Claudia: No! I might have some! I used to cut my hair all the time, let me think for a second.
Claudia: Do not use a piece of tape when you’re making bangs, to get a straight line.
Mae: What annoyed you the most about your mom when you were a teen?
Claudia: Oh my gosh...
Claudia: Waiting to pick her up from work. I’d go to work to pick her up and then she wouldn't be ready for like two hours. I just be sitting there...
Mae: What was your go to snack as a teenager?
Claudia: (laughs)
Claudia: Uh... Snickers bars!
Mae: What’s something that set you apart from all of your friends?
Claudia: Something that set me apart form my friends in general was that I didn’t really stress over social stuff that much. I just had fun being with whoever I was with.
Mae: Okay. Something you wish you had done more as a child/teen/young adult
Claudia: Yoga.
Mae: Thing you liked about school the most?
Claudia: (long silence)
Claudia: Getting out.(Laughs) At the end of the day, or skipping! Taking days off...
Mae: An irrational fear you had as a child?
Claudia: YES. Spirit People. Were around all the time.
Mae: (laughs)
Mae: An irrational fear you have now?
Claudia: Um let’s see. Oh, that somebodies empty water bottle, or soda bottle, or juice can, is gonna roll under the brake when I’m driving. So I can’t stop the car.
Mae:A piece of clothing you would steal from your past self so you could wear now.
Claudia: These really nice drawstring pants that I tie-dyed with all these beautiful blue starburst patterns on them and then I dyed them blue and black and they were really pretty and really comfortable and really thin.
xoxo Mae
